2021 Spring Conference
The AFCC 2021 Spring Conference was held May 16-17 at the Eden Roc Hotel in Miami, FL. After a long 20 months since the AFCC held its last conference in the Fall of 2019, we were thrilled to plan a hybrid event of virtual and in-person attendees allowing individuals and companies in the debt settlement industry to participate in educational presentations led by industry experts. Conference highlights included but were not limited to an introduction of the new AFCC CEO, Denise Dunckel, and a regulatory and compliance update from AFCC Board President Robby Birnbaum. Congressman, Andy Barr spoke to a full house about consumer protection and choices in financial alternatives. Former Deputy Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Thomas Pahl, answered questions from the audience and shared an unfiltered perspective on what we can expect from the new administration and how this will impact the financial services industry. Wearing masks and socially distancing was a small price to pay for having the pleasure to once again network with our peers and colleagues face to face.
