2020 Fall-Virtual Forum

Due to COVID-19, the AFCC Fall conference could not be held live in Las Vegas as expected. For the health and safety of our members and attendees, a three-day virtual event was offered via Zoom September 29th-October 1st. The sessions provided attendees with relevant information including an update on regulatory and debt settlement industry trends from AFCC President Robby Birnbaum. Attendees also received a detailed presentation from Robert Linderman and Steve Boms on the current state and federal legislative initiatives being supported by the AFCC.

Fall 2019 – Las Vegas

The AFCC 2019 Fall Conference was held September 8th and 9th at Encore at the Wynn in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The conference kicked off with the popular roundtable sessions which grew to 14 session topics presented by experts from across the industry. The roundtable sessions offered attendees a valuable opportunity to learn about various aspects of sales, marketing, compliance and adjunct services. Additional conference highlights included an update from AFCC President Robby Birnbaum on current industry trends and regulatory issues impacting member companies.  Attendees also received an update from Steve Boms and Bob Linderman on recent state and federal legislative initiatives.  Finally, John Dunham, managing Partner of John Dunham and Associates presented the results of an Economic Impact Study commissioned by the AFCC that demonstrates the financial impact debt settlement services deliver to consumers and state and local economies.

Spring 2019 – Nashville,TN

The AFCC 2019 Spring Conference was held March 10th and 11th at the Rennaissance Hotel in Nashville, TN. Back by popular demand this year, the conference kicked off with a series of eight roundtable discussions presented by individuals representing leading settlement companies, lenders and compliance and marketing specialists. Following the Roundtable sessions, the evening networking event drew almost 300 conference attendees. This year's conference kicked off with the AFCC Golf Classic event held at the Siena Golf Club and Sponsored by Global Client Solutions. AFCC President, Robby Birnbaum opened the conference, updating attendees about the latest news and regulatory issues affecting the industry. Featured speakers also included K (Ghandi) Eswaramoorthy of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Mark Hutto and Christopher Gramlich from Real Time Resolutions, Inc., a leading collection agency in Dallas, Texas, and Steve Boms of Allon Advocacy, who introduced the attendees to the newly formed Consumer Financial Empowerment, Political Action Committee. Fall 2017 – Las Vegas, NV

The Fall 2017 Conference was held October 8-10 at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. The conference started off with opening remarks from Robby Birnbaum, AFCC President, who addressed the standing room only crowd of attendees and new members and discussed recent regulatory issues facing the debt settlement industry and provided an update legislative lobbying activities being performed by the association. Attendees also heard from a number of industry leaders on topics ranging from technology, marketing, compliance and peer-to-peer and conventional loan programs.

The Spring 2017 Conference was held April 28th, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts Hotel in Costa Mesa, California, home one of the area’s most prestigious theater and orchestral venues. This year’s conference highlighted a number of topics around marketing, compliance, regulation and social media presented by leading industry experts and marketing consultants. Attendees were joined by leading industry professionals from the debt relief and student loan industries for several networking sessions throughout the day.

Spring 2016 – New Orleans, LA

This year’s conference will highlight recent legislative updates and technical sessions from leading industry stakeholders, legislators and industry regulators. Highlights of the upcoming conference include a presentation by Ohio State Senator Bill Seitz, (R-Cincinnati) and AFCC lobbyist Kurt Leib, partner at Capitol Advocates, who will provide a detailed update on a bill moving through the Ohio legislature relating to fee caps on debt relief services.

Fall 2015 – Las Vegas, NV

The Fall 2015 AFCC Conference took place at the The Palms Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over 250 professionals in the debt settlement industry attended the 3-day conference to hear a packed agenda full of knowledgeable speakers on multiple aspects of the industry. Robby Birnbaum, AFCC President and a leading expert on debt settlement compliance and regulation, provided a timely update on what every attendee needs to know to run their business in a safe and compliant manner. Mr. Birnbaum reviewed the current status of state laws, consumer protections, the approaches and what to expect from the CFPB, FTC and state regulators. Mr. Birnbaum also addressed the latest licensing requirements for the industry and marketing practices and the compliance concerns around these practices.
